Brighton is located at the top of Big Cottonwood Canyon, less than 35 minutes southeast of downtown Salt Lake City and about 35 miles from Salt Lake International Airport. There are a number of ways to travel between Brighton, the other ski resorts and the airport, ranging from private a limousine to the city bus. Keep in mind there are several rental car companies to choose from at the airport. Below we have listed the most efficient means of public transportation. Private Shuttle: The Mountain Valley Transportation shuttle is a 24-hour private shuttle service that takes passengers to and from the airport as well as to any resort they desire. For a ride to the airport, reservations should be made at least 24 hours in advance. Passengers should have flight information ready. 24-hour service is also available to and from any of the ski resorts. For more information or to make reservations call 1-877-834-3456. Public Transportation: The Utah Transit Authority (UTA) provides light-rail service, airport transportation, and service to ski resorts in the winter (door-to-door transportation available for disabled passengers). Call RIDE-UTA (801/ 743-3882). Buses running to and from The Canyons usually stop running around 6pm.
