UTAH KIDS
All Utah children enrolled in grades kindergarten through 12 are invited to learn to ski or ride for FREE at Park City Mountain Resort through the Legacy Ski & Ride Program. The program was created by the Resort as a way to encourage more children across the state to enjoy snow sports, and to increase excitement and anticipation of the upcoming 2002 Olympic Winter Games.
Each night of the Legacy Ski & Ride Program, 200 pre-registered children will be guided, step-by-step, to receive free rental equipment, a free three-hour ski or snowboard lesson, and a free lift ticket.
Participants have several opportunities to continue skiing or snowboarding. After completing a "Legacy Night," children receive a bounceback coupon good for another lesson, lift ticket and rental package for themselves and their immediate family for $10 per person, or $50 for a family of five or more. Legacy participants will also receive an invitation to purchase a $99 student pass for the 2001-2002 winter season.
Introduced in 1999, the Legacy Ski & Ride program has met with tremendous success. Last season, 4,400 children participated in the program over 22 nights. The National Ski Areas Association [NSAA] recognized the Legacy Ski & Ride Program as one of the best programs to grow the sport at its national convention in May 1999.
Park City Mountain Resort, located just 37 miles from Salt Lake International Airport, is an official venue for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games, and is consistently rated one of the top 10 resorts in North America. Children can pre-register by calling (800) 915-9457.
